*JUDGING & LECTURING

Competition and Exhibition Judge and Lecturer
Well that's it! I have just given my final scheduled lecture (Mono Memories), having kept to my commitment to retire at the end of the year. Regrets? No, not at all. I have been on the circuit for 10 years and it has been a very rewarding experience. 2025, however, has been curtailed by a few cancellations - all by me - as a result of some health issues which, thankfully have been sorted. However, it was a sign to me that my decision was a correct one. So, good luck to every club out there. Some are in a better position than others but I wish every club all the best for the future.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT TAKING BOOKINGS FOR LECTURING OR JUDGING BEYOND THE END OF 2025. AFTER 10 YEARS OF VERY ENJOYABLE VISITS TO INNUMERABLE CLUBS OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE EVERYONE A BREAK FROM MY INCESSANT RAMBLINGS AND HAND OVER TO THE NEXT GENERATION. THANK YOU TO EVERY CLUB AND SOCIETY THAT HAS HOSTED ME AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE.

I have been a competition and exhibition judge and lecturer on the MCPF (Midland Counties Photographic Federation) and WCPF (Western Counties Photographic Federation) circuits for many years and, as such, am available for judging and lecturing to camera clubs and other associations within an 80-mile radius of my home in Yate in South Gloucestershire.

I currently have two talks:

“Now You See It, Now You Don’t” which, as a photographer mainly specialising in landscape and elements of the landscape, consists of such images in colour, mono and abstract/impressionist form.

"Mono Memories" which, as the title suggests is a talk featuring monochrome images and includes an explanation of what monochrome photography means to me and how to make the most of it.

My fees are based on PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) rates.

However, since restrictions imposed by Covid, I have been accustomed to lecturing and judging via Zoom and other remote platforms and am happy to continue to do so on request. I make a token charge of £30 per session to cover my preparation and delivery time. Please feel free to get in touch via my Contact Me page in the usual way.
